Anti-Phorm Campaign
“Webwise is Unwise” |
|
Introduction
If you have come here already aware of the BT, Talk Talk and Virgin Media proposals to view all their clients page views using Webwise in conjunction with a firm called Phorm to offer targeted advertising welcome, I hope the campaigning ideas herein will stir you into action.
If you are not fully aware of the issues then please have a look at the Badphorm web site first and if you want to campaign come back and have a look at my suggestions.
Put simply using these pages you can quickly download files that will enable you to instantly print off an A4 poster, A5 or A6 flyers or a simple set of business cards which you can use to campaign against BT’s, Talk Talk’s and Virgin’s proposals to spy on us.
Background
Unlike traditional spyware this intrusion into your internet activity cannot be cured with anti-spyware programs. The spying is being undertaken by the ISP’s. You are lured to opt in with Webwise {anti phishing software, nothing particularly new} but even if you opt out it is uncertain that your viewing habits will be ignored. Your only guarantee is to change your ISP to one not in cahoots with Phorm {or Netbuad or similar}. By making our views clear and changing ISP’s perhaps we can convince all ISP’s that “pimping our data” is unacceptable.

SAY NO THANK YOU TO THESE ISP’s |

BT + TALK TALK + Virgin media = Phorm & Webwise |

|
Phorm & Webwise are an UNCONTROLLED, UNREGULATED UNCHECKABLE BODY that admits it can see every page on the web If Phorm can ignore some pages then it can equally view others if it chooses. CAN WE TRUST THEM |
